A wheelset to break boundaries and overcome all limits. The Fulcrum Red Metal 5 wheels et is designed specifically for trail biking. The new hubs of the wheels have the same housing as the hubs used in the Red Zone Carbon and Red Zone 3. The differences are in the axle and bearings: Red Metal 5 features sealed, durable and efficient bearings that can be fine-tuned with a special adjustment ring. Red Metal 5 feature 2-WAY FIT READY rims with a height of only 18.6 mm and a newly designed asymmetrical section to ensure even spoke tension. Highlights of the Fulcrum Red Metal 5 wheelset 2Way - Fit™ Ready Asymmetrical rim design Axial Fixing System™ Wide Rim Tech Wide rims for plenty of grip and more control Axial Fixing System™ The Axial Fixing System™ is the solution developed by Fulcrum® for fixing the disc brake to the hub. This system provides even better fixation than comparable fixing methods, making it possible to increase structural stiffness and thus brake in a more controlled and powerful way. Wide Rim Tech The engineers at Fulcrum® worked to create rims with a greater width than in the past. Out came the Red Metal 5 with about 4 mm more width. This makes it possible to provide the ideal support base for 25/28 mm tires, the preferred sizes today. In this way, stability, optimal handling and high comfort are guaranteed. Rim asymmetry The rim asymmetry is designed to improve the tension of the rim while balancing the forces coming from brakes and sprocket package. 2Way - Fit™ Ready With this process, the wheels designed for use with air chamber can be converted to Tubeless Ready wheels, i.e. without air chamber and with mandatory use of a tire sealant.
