This upper layer is able to follow the movements of the seat bones when pedaling, even though it is already compressed by the rider's weight. This creates less friction around the sit bones and muscles. The PU foam stabilizes the pelvis and distributes pressure away from the sit bones and muscles. This effect is reinforced by the Hammock Cuts, the recesses below the sit bones in the saddle shell.
