Behind the Overcurve R4 lies an advanced construction technique: an elastic, polyurethane-coated material is combined over a comfortable mesh to reduce energy loss and provide lasting support for the foot where it needs it most. Overcurve The shoe closure is fast, reliable and secure, powered by a micro-adjustable BOA® Li2 pivot system in an overcurve pattern. The Overcurve shoe construction features a staggered collar that wraps around the ankle and traces the natural alignment of the two bony protrusions of the ankle: the lateral and medial malleoli. The result is an asymmetrical shape where the collar of the shoe curves over the foot from the outside in. R4 outsole The moderately stiff R4 outsole offers a good balance between comfort and pedaling efficiency, making it a true all-rounder. It has a lower profile that has been structurally optimized with a 15% carbon fiber composition. The R4 outsole also offers efficient ventilation with internal channels for effective temperature regulation. The cleat is positioned slightly further towards the heel compared to traditional placement to optimize pedaling efficiency and reduce pressure on the knees, which is particularly suitable for aggressive forward-facing aero riding positions.
