Shimano GRX – United in Gravel Gravel is the great equalizer. No matter who you are, where you come from or where you want to go. Gravel celebrates individuality. It welds together in a shared passion. It lays the foundation for friendships and creates memories for the ages. Whether you ride one kilometer or a hundred. Whether with professional equipment or without. With a 10-speed, 11-speed or 12-speed gear system. Whether on paved roads, forest roads, back roads – or no roads at all. It does not matter why you are out there, all that matters is that you are. Shimano GRX FC-RX820-1 crankset The two-piece Shimano GRX FC-RX820 crank combines low weight with improved efficiency to always cut a fine figure in mixed terrain. While the Hollowtech II crank arms made of aluminum ensure an optimally balanced ratio between low weight and stiffness, the chain line, which has been increased by 2.5 mm, offers more freedom in the frame design as well as for wider tires. In order to meet individual riding styles as well as different requirements of Gravel sports, the crankset for 1x12-speed drivetrain systems offers a range of gear ratio options. Be it a tighter gear gradation or maximum bandwidth, two different chainring sizes (40 or 42 teeth) and the choice between a cassette with 10-45 or 10-51 teeth (CS-M8100-12, sold separately) makes it possible to serve the individual needs of the most diverse types of riders. The goal was to produce a crank that minimises the effort required for the drive and enables more efficient power transmission. An exclusive forging process allows the production of extremely light crank arms that nevertheless guarantee maximum stiffness. The fixed connection of the right arm to the axle of the bottom bracket and its external bearing also serve an optimum relationship between stiffness and low weight.
