The main purpose of extensions is to position the hands in a comfortable relationship to the armrests of the aerobar, allowing riders to relax their arms. For the best possible performance and a customized fit for the individual user, Profile Design offers a variety of options that differ in angle, rise, length and offset. Aero Shaped Carbon (ASC). Carbon fibers are not only easy to shape into an aerodynamic form, the result also offers an excellent level of strength and stiffness. Supported by CFD analyses, Profile Design has made use of these advantages in the development of the ASC extensions whose premise lies in a lateral shift (offset) that enables their front section to form a streamlined unit with the rider's arms. At the same time, the clamping diameter of 22.2 mm has been retained, ensuring compatibility with most conventional aerobars. However, minimizing air resistance is not all that the 52 ASC extensions are about. Profile Design has also dedicated itself to the issue of convenience. Accordingly, the increased grip angle of 9 degrees compared to the popular 43 ASC model allows for more pleasant wrist support, which is achieved by a fit that not only smoothes the airflow over the arm, but also provides a larger contact surface. The consequence: more control and comfort. The latter can even be optimized with the help of Race+ or Ergo+ armrests (not included). These allow riders to adopt an optimal, supportive position which is helpful to provide a more relaxed ride. And relaxation is ultimately the key to more speed.
