With the new Rex Black Magik drip wax, you get the benefits of hot wax application - such as extreme cleanliness, low friction, and effective wear protection - combined with the ease of use of bottle-applied lubes. The advanced emulsion process transforms the wax into extremely fine micro-droplets. Once the water carrier evaporates, only genuine Rex wax remains. You’ll notice Black Magik’s similarity with hot wax as it stiffens the chain after lubrication, almost like hot wax. During a short run-in period, the chain breaks in, and excess wax sheds from the surface. The internal and external pressures exerted on the waxed chain compress the wax droplets into a solid state, resembling molten wax. The result is long-lasting lubrication that surpasses the durability and dirt-repellency of traditional emulsion waxes. Black Magik is manufactured in Hartola, Finland, using an advanced in-house manufacturing process. How long does one application last? The duration of a single application depends heavily on conditions. In dry weather, the lubrication can last for several hundred kilometers. In wet conditions, the lubrication duration shortens significantly. We recommend wiping the chain and reapplying lubrication after every wet ride. This also helps avoid surface rust, which is typical for dry chain waxes.
