FADE STRAIGHTPULL - Maximum reliability with minimum weight. - these attributes are engineered into the new NEWMEN FADE hubs. In combination with the hub body geometry which allows for equal spoke lengths all around your wheelset, this results in a carefree highend straightpull hub. The hubs are made in Germany. Features of the new generation of Newmen FADE hubs As with the predecessor hubs, the body has more material around the critical areas compared to competitor hubs which results in increased durability and safety. Newmen is convinced enough by the durability of these hubs to allow them to be used with any Ebike on the market. TA-Caps (Tolerance Adjustment Caps) All components have manufacturing tolerances. The TA caps can be used to completely compensate for these tolerances. The result: All parts fit together perfectly at all times – something that's definitely not possible on hubs that don't feature TA caps! The TA caps also compensate for compression on the axle from the massive clamping forces generated by modern through-axles/quick releases. This keeps the bearings running smoothly and ensures a long life. Ball bearings Newmen uses only premium-quality deep groove bearings. Since August 2018 with the following improvements: 10µ reduced internal clearance. Due to this the balls always accurately follow their predefined grooves - even under high axial loads which for example occur when the TA-cap adjustment is not done properly Tighter outer seals in order to reduce the risk of water and dirt finding their way into the bearing Additional solid lubricants in the grease Because of these changes the resistance when turning the bearings by hand is slightly higher at first. After a few hundred kilometers this behaviour normalizes though.
