The mountain bike experience starts here. With a redesigned frame that’s now lighter and sturdier, plus a smooth-riding suspension fork, thru axle hubs, and a 1x drivetrain, this aluminum hardtail offers everything an aspiring mtb rider needs to develop their skills and make progress. Modern MTB Design | Tapered steerer tubes, high-quality components such as a 1x drivetrain, thru axle hubs, internal cable routing (including a dropper seatpost), and integrated chain stay protection offer aspiring trail riders plenty of room to grow. Off-Road Control | The new geometry is optimized for confident trail riding and offers two different wheel sizes (27.5 or 29 inches) depending on frame size. The geometry is also designed for a front suspension with an 80-mm or 100-mm fork, depending on frame size. All models accommodate wide-profile tires (up to 2.4 inches), which provide traction and grip on technical terrain. Lightweight and durable | The all-new ALUXX aluminum frame features a redesigned shape and reduced overall weight, resulting in improved off-road performance. Highlights of the Giant Talon 1 - 29" mountain bike ALUXX Aluminum—this proprietary alloy, manufactured from raw material in Giant’s own foundry, is 30 percent stiffer than conventional 6061 aluminum while also reducing overall weight. The cables for shifting, brakes, and dropper seatpost are routed internally through integrated cable guides. This contributes to weight savings and ensures a cleaner appearance as well as improved performance. The 30.9 mm seat tube diameter and clean internal cable routing allow for an easy upgrade to a dropper post. The frame is designed to be used with both a single-chainring crankset and a double-chainring crankset. For 2x configurations, either a side-swinging or a down-swinging front derailleur can be used. Thanks to the mounting points on the seat and chain stays, a carrier, fenders, or a KSA 18 kickstand can be easily attached. The 1.5-inch steerer ensures riding stability, especially on rough terrain and narrow trails.
